7 of June in Milan, fashion capital , Climate Action Commissioner Connie Hedegaard met with representatives of the fashion industry followed by a sustainable fashion show. What is the result for make a sustainable fashion ?
The European Commission campaign ‘A world you like. With a climate you like’ is organising an event in Milan « How to make our consumption more sustainable? » One of the topics was about sustainable fashion.
The main question of event was how the consumers can inspire suppliers to produce and package goods in more climate-friendly ways.
Commissioner Connie Hedegaard said:
“Each one of us can make a difference in the fight against climate change – governments, industries, cities but also individual consumers. Do you know what you can do? Buying local or low-energy products, taking the bike or avoiding unnecessary waste of energy: this sustainable approach will save us money, time and emissions. What is holding you back from doing the things that are obviously a good idea? I am looking forward to discussing this with you.”
Milan introduce the newest trends and discuss current questions surrounding ecological design.
We see 2 tendences in Eco Fashion. The companies, platforms, networks and associations focus of their work on sustainability, but also the consumers are developing a preference for products manufactured in an ecological and socially responsible manner.
One of campaign annonced in Milan “I prefer 30°” is a initiative not only for the detergent industry, but also open to appliance manufacturers, retailers, the fashion sector and consumers.
In fact, Eco fashion does not only involve the use of renewable ecological materials, it also implies fair trade practices with respect to business partners.
